ZOMG

WHEN IS THE FULL VERSION COMING. WHEN. Kind of late to be reviewing, I heard this a month ago but w/e i'm bored and felt like leaving a review. Seriously the most professional sounding thing I've heard from you so far. Can't stop looping it. If you were to sell this when it's done, I would buy it.

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Glad to hear it.

Amazing mood

I'm loving the heavy beat, kind of unexpected for this type of trance. The reverse kicks are a really nice touch. This song has a deep rich atmosphere and has so many complex changes that it doesn't even feel like 10 minutes. I think you could've given the lead a different sound than the original though, or made it softer; it kind of stands out too much and we've all heard it 50 billion times :P Overall one of the most original remixes I've ever heard. I admire your creativity.

May I ask:
How many tracks does this have?
How long did you spend on it?

Karco responds:

Glad you like it! :D The lead seems to be a point of debate among the critics (not reviewers :P) of this song, some like it, some don't - I personally thought it was fine considering the original used a similar lead and that I was aiming for some kind of recognizability while keeping the rest of the song completely new.

- Well, if by tracks you mean drums, synths, and instruments, then it's around 26 or 27.
- About a month. ;)

Thanks for the review!

Wow, really great...

5/5, 9/10

Your cousin has an amazing voice. I really loved her singing :) Though the rest of the song was really good, it didn't really blow me away. If you used those same vocals in a deep trance song... omgsdfsdffsd instafav! Pleeeaase make a trance mix of this :D It just doesn't have the right energy now... to quiet I guess. It has the potential to be really moving...

Equation responds:

Thanks, it's a shame cus I didn't save the project I only exported it in to an Mp3 once me and her had finished with it...

I still have her vocals saved though so I think I may have to make a melodic trance remix of it

Thanks for the review :)

This has some really great stuff in it!

Unfortunately, like you said it didn't really go anywhere. The piano: creates an amazing mood... just great. The beat is great, I love the complexity and the glitching. It was kind of offputting how the beat just kind of started and stopped through the song. I would've liked to see it continue through the song as you added more elements and layering. Overall this is a really good start, it's really creative; don't abandon this!

Would you mind checking out my latest song "Windstorm" if you have 5 minutes to spare?

nubbinownz responds:

I reviewed yours as well thank you for the review man.

Yeah , i was trying to add more layers, but then it started not sounding right. When i make songs i never really know how they are going to sound. I just know how they are going to start, and from the start i thought it was going to be good. But sometimes my songs dissapoint me.

thank you again for the review friend.

I really liked it until :10

Then it kind of seemed like you lost where you were going. If you kept repeating that theme, and started the bassline/beat at :10 or so, I think it could make a pretty cool song.
Do something with it! :D

Would you mind checking out my latest song "Windstorm" in return for the review?

Seiku21 responds:

Heh, too bad something happened with my FL6. Somehow, it reverted back to the demo version, and I can't fix it, So, I can't save, so... This is as good as it's gonna get with this tune ):

Very creative

Reminds me of a lot of things. What are your influences? Though it's kind of unusual, I like it. Good use of vocal harmonies in this song. My only complaint is that it doesn't really have a beat or much bass. Sure it has lots of percussion, but it's barely audible. It needs a strong kick or maybe some bongos :)

Would you mind checking out my latest song 'Windstorm' in return for this review?

TheMaskedJew responds:

Yeah, I understand what you mean. It's too late I realize that the treble on my amp was turned all the way up.

Damn, your first?

Pretty impressive... might I ask what program? The mixing's not bad, I like the pad that oscillates from the left to right. But the EQ... isn't too great. More on that later. Overall I think it's really lacking a constant theme, it kind of feels like it went all over the place. And it feels kind of empty, definitely needs a lot more bass. And definitely more volume overall. The kick is nice and heavy, but the bass I do hear is very low in volume. It needs a much stronger tone in the low range notes, you know what I mean?

Also, this is not trance, I'd say it's more like Industrial.
All that said... much better than my first lol.

gamecubebible responds:

Hehe :) I know that it needs a little more bass and such. I'm working on it. I aint using the big advanced programs.. I use Ejay Virtual Music Studio. It's not the best but it's easy and I like it :) Thanks for the review.

Could be great

But it has some issues...

First the good:

I love the main synth part. It's very energetic and it's very dynamic in range. (That's two different tracks right?) You used good roots in the chord. Well good job on making the high notes louder, harder, and giving them more of an echo. Makes them stand out.

You have a good rhythm going on, and and I like the glitching towards the end. That is well done. Has sort of an industrial feel.

I've been keeping this looping, it's addicting (a bit harsh through headphones though) Makes me feel happy :)

The bad:

I like the gameboy-ish synth that starts at :45. The notes are kind of flat though. That's fine, but when you include the main synths into the melody at :49 it creates a lot of dissonance. Those notes are not flat, and if anything, sharp. Sorry, but :49 - 1:11 is sort of a mess :/ Also, you need to make sure the notes you're using are in the right key (not sure if they are) It would have been pretty good if you'd just left the main synth out at that section; It would have been a little empty though, which brings me to my next point. The mixing needs a lot of work. I've noticed with your songs that there's hardly any bass or drums at all. It really needs a force to drive this song, and I think it would be possible to remix this into a badass drum and bass song :P There's a bit too much empty space between the notes, you have one pad (i think), but I would use one or two more. Also you should make this stereo, instead of everything being balanced between the two speakers.

Wow, it looks like I hated it by the amount I wrote under "bad" compared to the amount I wrote under "good". But I'm just better at making constructive criticism than praise, makes some people think I'm rude lol. But I really did like it. I gave you an 8 because I think it has a lot of originality. And I think you have the potential, you just don't put enough time and effort into it. (You really should! have more patience!) >:C I think you had a good idea here... Could I try remixing this sometime? (not a promise that I will though)

Rad responds:

Well your definitely right about my lack of bass and drums in most of my songs. I need to be sure to cover that in my next song. And about 49 to 1:11 being a mess... you mean like I'm having too many channels on at once or they're not working together? I found that one really useful, and I'd love it if you could clarify later in PM or MSN or something.

Split up sound between speakers...Check. Doing that next time around.

Yeah I have one pad in there, but more? Alright. I think I can see what you mean with it.

I think this was my best review of the three so far, (Sorry Donkey and Barry! love you guys.)

Lets chat sometime about music and such kay?

I wish I was European so I could make better electronica :C
